I See A Woman

“You betcha!” or maybe “Damn straight” or “I see you” Or “Hello brother”

That is what I see when I look at this picture.

I also see a woman who knows who she is. Who is full of life, joy, and happiness.

I see a woman, like the rest of us, who went through some humdingers in their childhood, teenage, college, married, parenting, and all of the other years we get to experience while we are here.

I see a woman who has hurt, learned from it, healed, grown, opened her heart and mind, practiced OWNERSH*T, thrived, and shared all of it. Why? You may ask?

Because I could. Because it lights me up. Because I know we all have messes that we hold negative thoughts about,, yet we are all going through the same things just with different words.

Divorce knocked me down, slowed me down to teach me and now I choose to use it as a springboard to greatness.

Others experience this through the loss of a loved one, an illness, or possibly losing everything in an instant.

Extreme events bring us together. Let our everyday struggles unite us. Let’s have each other's backs when things are messy. Let’s reach out when someone is suffering rather than gossiping about them. Let’s use our mess, our lives, our hearts, our stories to change the world.

One of the most beautiful things I hear is, “I got you.” I LOVE that. That is what I want to hear from my children, my family, my community, my country, my world. And let it begin with me.

I got you brother/sister/mother/father/child/elder/he/she/they/them/foreigner/stranger/opposing side. Who gives a shit where we come from or what we look like. I’ve got you. I want to learn from you.

Any thought that is not love-based is fear-based. I am not fearful.
