Leigh and Feenie
I started the day with Eve coming out of her room grumpy as heck. She was complaining about everything. I asked her to please fake a smile to release some feel-good endorphins in her body and tell me one good thing. She couldn’t. She was in a funk and wanted me to hear all about it.
I told her she might have to leave the room because I was getting ready to start my exercise class shift by Dana Perri and I need to focus and give it my all and her energy is bringing me down.
“Please go to your room and come back out when you can think of three good things to share.”
Oh hell no. Eve was in a funk and wanted me to know all about it. I was starting to get agitated when I turned to open the door so the dogs could come in. I thought my exercise class just started I’ll focus on the teacher.
I open the back door to let my dogs in, took off my sweatshirt, and got in the straddle stance to join my class. I did too deep knee bends and smelled something awful. I looked around and there was dog poop smeared on my yoga mat, on the rug, on the couch, and a pillow on the couch. What in the hell I started trying to chase the dogs to get them outside to figure out who is the culprit which spread more poop. I finally got them out, looked at my class, and was so bummed to be losing my one dedicated hour to work out.
I turned off the TV and got out the Clorox wipes and went to town. By the time My assistant walked into the family room I was so red-faced and agitated then she told me she brought her brand new puppy to work. I asked why in the heck she would bring an un-potty trained dog to my newly redone home office. I have potty trained eight dogs. I know how it goes.
We talked for a bit and I said it was fine- you can bring your dog. She said why don’t you just come out and see the setup that I’ve done. He will not be going potty on your rug in the office.
I walked back and saw the puppy. Holy Toledo is he precious. I grabbed that little thing and held him close and kissed him and pet him I used voice as I used to when my kids were a baby. And my puppies were puppies. I felt all of the feel-good endorphins being released from my body. I calm down, my mind calms down, and I felt closer to peace again.
Thank you for bringing your precious doggie Alicia. And Evie thank you for reminding me that I can go within for positivity and quiet. I don’t need you to do it for me.
Rough morning flowing into a very beautiful morning. That’s how I would describe my morning. Thank you, puppy Phoenix for the endorphin rush.
